Basilloves warm weather starting with mid-spring in the deep south (in Florida, basil can be grown starting in March) once the soil has warmed up. If you enjoy making pesto, grow a lot of plants.
Germination:
Start 30-40 days before last expected frost, or when temps are consistently above 65 degrees for lows, in spring using a seed starting kit.
¼" deep in seed-starting formula, or direct sow.
Keep the soil moist at 70-75 degrees
Plants pop up in 7-14 days.
