A very versatile and food-friendly pepper that can be used fresh in just about any dish, or enjoyed as a pickled pepper. The Hungarian Wax Hot is a bright yellow medium hot pepper averages 5 inches in length and turn red when mature. Fruit are smooth, waxy and taper to a point. Compact plants grow up to 24" tall and produce an abundance of fruit. Early and widely adapted, this pepper can easily be grown in 1 gallon or larger containers, and is perfect for the home garden! Water regularly, but do not overwater.
Start pepper seeds indoors in peat pots about 8 weeks before the last expected spring frost. Sow them 1/4" deep and keep the soil at 80-85 degrees F until germination; provide sunlight or a grow light for 12-16 hours a day. In cold hardiness zones 7 and below, start germinating 4-6 weeks before last expected frost.
