The old standard petunia that graced American gardens in the 1950s. Dwarf plants produce loads of brightly-colored flowers in many colors. A must for all who want to re-create a retro American flower garden. (Annual)
Start indoors 4 to 8 weeks before setting out after frost, or sow seeds in place outdoors at about the last frost in spring. In either case, sow in fine, moist soil and cover very lightly. Germination is accelerated by warm temperatures and may take 2 to 3 weeks.
Final planting in the garden should be in full sun. Allow about 1-foot between plants. Thrives in summer heat.
