Ornamental Thai Hot Pepper
Both ornate and functional, this is a favorite among pepper growers.
At 30K scoville heat units, this is a pepper that makes a flavorful and practical addition to stir frying or any other spicy dish. Thai pepper seeds, around 30,000 Scoville heat units (10x hotter than jalapenos, 1/10th as hot as habaneros), but what it lacks in heat, it more than makes up for in flavor. Let pepper plants get pretty thirsty before watering. Easy to grow in 1 gallon sized pots. On summer days hotter than 90F, move to part shade. Caution: avoid touching self and others after handling opened pods. An affordable and long lasting gift.
Germination: Plant seeds in garden soil, 1/4" deep, maintaining soil temp of about 80-85 degrees, keep the soil moist, but not saturated. Seeds will take from 16-30 days to germinate.
