Purple Ruffles Basil adds an interesting contrast in the herb garden planted beside the more common gray and green herbs and looks terrific next to bright bedding plants in the flower bed or in mixed containers. The hint of licorice and cinnamon flavor of this variety is not as strong as the other purples and it needs full sun for best color.
After last frost cultivate area or use starter pots indoors (4-6 weeks before last expected frost) with germination mix. Barely cover the seeds with fine grit or sand. Keep moist, but not saturated. Seeds will germinate in 7-14 days.
